Our talented new Events and Marketing Assistant
Last month, we were delighted to welcome our new Events and Marketing Assistant, Sophie Marsden, on board.
Sophie, who lives in Hutton Cranswick with her partner Josh and children Alesha (eight) and Harvey (five), is working hand-in-glove with our co-owners Tony and Chrysta. She’ll be one of the key faces of Village Farm Marquees and you’ll often find her voice on the end of the phone when you call in.
Sophie, who has a background in hospitality, sales and marketing, is also helping to drive our social media presence.

As everyone knows, the coronavirus pandemic has sadly wreaked havoc on people’s lives in many different ways, including by disrupting major personal events such as weddings. Couples around the country have experienced endless heartache as their longed-for, meticulously planned nuptials have had to be cancelled, in some cases – such as Heather Wilkie and Tom O’Donnell’s – no less than three times. So in the end it was fourth time lucky for the North Ferriby couple, who overcame all the hurdles to finally become man and wife on August 7, 2021. And what a day it was!
With restrictions on weddings here in the UK finally being eased we wanted to touch base and say hello!
The choices that couples face when they decide to marry are vast and with the current Covid-19 situation causing postponements and changes to plans we wanted to shine a light on the wedding ceremony itself and highlight the options that are available to couples.
Where do I begin? It’s certainly been a rollercoaster of a year for us all, never mind couples like ourselves, after months of planning and dreaming of our special day, having to postpone until a later date.
